Tripler hosts Director General of the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences, Royal Thai Army Medical Department

The Director General of the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences, Royal Thai Army Medical Department, Maj. Gen. Pramote Imwattana, M.D., visited Tripler Army Medical Center, May 21, to gain knowledge of the medical center's contributions and strategic provision of health care across the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Col. Mary Krueger, commander, Tripler Army Medical Center, provided a command brief for Imwattana, focusing on readiness initiatives, medical capabilities, the hospital's robust Graduate Professional Health Education program, and contributions towards Global Health Engagements. Imwattana, an obstetrics/gynecology physician, also toured Tripler's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic, and the Medical Simulation Center. The health care leaders shared interests that support readiness and effective health care delivery for their beneficiary populations. Nearly 261,000 people in the Pacific Basin are eligible to receive care at Tripler, the Pacific region’s premier teaching medical center. Beneficiaries include active-duty service members of all branches of service, their eligible families, military-eligible retirees, and their families, veterans and many residents across the Pacific Islands.
